◎ “One Wish” Becomes an Important Cultural Property ◎

Report on the “One Wish” we received the other day.

7/18 At the main temple Hasedera,
“Prayer Isshin” special dedication memorial service attracts over 100 people
The ceremony was held solemnly among those in attendance.

Sutra reading by His Highness Kancho Kaijun Kawamata,
In a solemn statement echoing through the mountains,
1300 wishes received from all over the country
It was delivered in a grand manner to the principal image, Eleven-faced Kanzeon Bodhisattva.

Each person’s wishes reflected on the paper bill are
It will be carefully placed in a wooden box by Hasedera-sama.
The wooden box is an important cultural property and is displayed at the top of the corridor.
It is carefully enshrined behind the plaque of “Prayer Isshin” in SISYUsho,
Embraced by great compassion near Kannon
I believe that it will continue to grow.
And for decades and hundreds of years to come,
I will continue to be protected by Hasedera-sama’s prayers.

When you visited Hasedera Temple in Yamato Province,
Please be sure to see the “Prayer Isshin” plaque at the end of the 399th step of the corridor.
Please look up and see. There are your wishes,
It will remain solid and indestructible.

And when your wish comes true, you can pay your respects.
We sincerely hope that you will visit Hasedera Temple.
